Tell us about you and your journey until now

I would like to introduce myself first. My name is Marina, I am 25 years old and I come
from Serbia. I would say that my journey was long, because until the last moment I did
not know if I would go. Since this is not my first exchange, I wanted to try again, but this
time a little differently, this time I wanted to do an internship, not the classic student
exchange I did before.

2. How was the change from living in Serbia to living in Spain?

The change was not surprising, because I took part on an exchange two years ago in Spain, so I knew roughly what to expect on the one hand.
On the other hand, this is a completely new experience, because the island itself is very
different from the south of Spain, where I was before.
Also, my first exchange focused more on studies, while now I can do something more concrete, which may attract me in the future and open up some new interests for me. I think that we need to try more things in life and just see what we like.

Considering that I have already been on an exchange once and that I have come to do another internship, I don´t think you need a better recommendation than this, right?
I would say don´t think too much and just go with a flow.

3. What kind of duties do you do at work on a daily basis?

I work in an organization called Jump Into Freedom. Sounds familiar to you? 😀
My duties are design and execution of project documentation, supporting materials and communications. Also to take part in the social media handles, marketing and PR activities. Help in sales and pitch for services and register new processes.

“For me, Tenerife is a synonym for paradise, a place that has a perfect climate, nature, food, everything.”

4. What do you do in your free time in the island?

Tenerife has a lot to offer. I like to go to the beach the most, there are so many of them that it is impossible to visit everything in two months. I like to go to lunch with friends, to walk, to go out. Tenerife is magical, with beautiful flora and fauna, wonderful people,
culture, there is so much diversity, people from all over the world.
For me, Tenerife is a synonym for paradise, a place that has a perfect climate, nature, food, everything.

5. What have you gained from this experience so far?

I have gained certainly new knowledge in an area that was unknown to me until now.
Something that will definitely serve me in the future and help me cope with new
challenges and jobs.

6. Would you recommend Jump into Freedom for someone looking for a position abroad? How was the whole process until you finally relocate?

I would definitely recommend. I must point out that they helped me a lot and that the
process with them was very simple and well organized. The organization itself is very
active, they respond quickly to emails, also Laura from Jump Into Freedom is a great
support and very patient, which is very important.

7. Any advice for someone who would like to move abroad just like you did?

To travel as often as possible, to live abroad if they are able, to get to know other
cultures, customs, people, because in that way they will look at things from a different
angle, broaden their horizons and make friends for life.
